Simbi is a comprehensive platform designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to start and grow their businesses. This case study outlines the development of this project, highlighting its key features and functionalities on both the user and admin sides.
User Side
1. Login and Sign-up:
Users can log in with their credentials (username and password). To register, users provide their first name, last name, country, email, and phone, and create a password. A ‘Forgot Password’ feature is available for account recovery. Users can choose to answer a bonus question that asks them if they have ever started a business before. This question unlocks after completing the main section.
2. User Profile:
- Users have a profile section where they can manage their personal information. The profile includes an option to update the profile picture, first name, last name, country, phone, and password.
- A ‘Change Password’ feature allows users to reset their old password and set a new one. Users can easily log out of their accounts.
- Footer Tabs: The footer contains links to important sections such as Contact Support, View Billing, Privacy Policy, Logout, and Delete Account.
User Side Functionalities
- Learn Users can create new units to organize their learning material. For each unit, users can enter notes and save them to their journals for easy reference. Users can also create lessons and view them in a tree-like structure for easy navigation.
- Clubs Users can access and participate in clubs. Club features include viewing club members, leaving a group and creating posts. ‘All Clubs’ provides an overview of available clubs. Create Post Users can create and publish posts in clubs, sharing insights and information.
- Messaging Users can communicate with others by opening the message page and selecting a member to chat with.
- Journal Page: Users can take notes by typing in the message bar and saving the content with the ‘Save’ button.
- Social Media Links Users can connect with Simbi’s social media profiles and stay updated with the latest news and updates.
- Notification Button Users can check notifications for updates, messages, and other relevant information.

User Journey: Filling the Cart and Making a Payment on Lux499
Lux499 has designed a seamless and user-friendly process for participants to order tickets for their desired competitions, review their orders, and make payments securely. Below are the steps a user follows to fill the cart and complete the payment:
#1. Select the Desired Competition
The user navigates to the competition of their choice. Each competition has a dedicated page with details about the prize, competition question, and entry price.
#2. Answer the Competition Question
The user must answer the competition question correctly.
#3. Select the Number of Tickets
Users can choose the number of tickets they wish to purchase for the competition.
#4. Add to Cart
After selecting the desired number of tickets, the user clicks the “Add to Cart” button. This action adds the selected tickets to their cart, and they can review their choices.
#5. Redirect to Basket
The user is automatically redirected to the cart or basket page, where they can review their order before proceeding to checkout.
#6. Update Order
Users have the option to update their order, such as changing the quantity of tickets or removing items.
#7. Check the Amount and Proceed to Checkout
Users can verify the total amount due for their order. Once satisfied with their selection, they proceed to the checkout process.
#8. Login (if returning customer)
If the user is a returning customer, they have the option to log in to their existing Lux499 account. This expedites the checkout process by auto-filling their billing details.
#9. Fill the Billing Details
Users are prompted to enter their billing details, including name, address, and payment information. Lux499 ensures the security of sensitive data during this step.

The Competitions section is the heart of Lux499, enabling administrators to manage all aspects of the ongoing competitions. Key functionalities include:
- Reviewing records of existing competitions, including start and end dates, live or expired status, and options to edit or delete them.
- Ability to modify competition images, both before and after, and download competition data as CSV files.
- Add Competition: Ability to add new competitions seamlessly. They can input details, such as competition name, subtitles, total available tickets, user ticket limits, main competition image, and more. Additional capabilities include setting the competition as “featured” on the home page, specifying start and end dates, establishing the price per entry, and formulating competition questions with multiple-choice answers. Admins can also declare cash alternatives and provide prize descriptions before submitting the competition.
III. Past Competitions
The Past Competitions section serves as a historical record of previous competitions. Admins can view details, including start and end dates, status, and images, and download this information in CSV format for reference and transparency.
IV. Sliders
The Sliders feature permits administrators to enhance the visual appeal of the platform by adding, modifying, or deleting slider images for different pages. This dynamic approach ensures the platform’s front end remains engaging and attractive.
V. Winner List
Administrators can maintain a comprehensive record of past winners, complete with titles and images. They can use this feature to make necessary edits or remove winners from the records as needed.
VI. Users
This section compiles a record of all registered users, providing administrators with insights into their user base. Information like first names, last names, phone numbers, and email addresses is accessible, and the option to export this user data is available for administrative purposes.
VII. Pages
Admins can take control of the content on various platform pages, including the Home page. This feature allows them to customize elements like titles, background videos, “Who we are” sections, homepage content videos, footer content, and footer images.
